To mark the beginning of their 15th anniversary year, SEKAI NO OWARI is releasing their first CD single of the year — a deluxe double A-side single featuring the theme songs from two major films: “Kohaku / Zukan“ “Zukan / Kohaku.“
 
“Kohaku“ is the theme song for the film “The Boy and the Dog,“ which premiered in March of 2025. The creation of the song was sparked by a particular melody that came to Fukase’s mind when the offer for the film came in. That melody was originally shown to him years ago by his friend Ryutaro Chiba, bassist of Shinsekai Lithium and a close friend since before the formation of SEKAI NO OWARI. Ryutaro later passed away in an accident, leaving the song unfinished. Fukase added a new melody to the piece left behind by his late friend, wrote the lyrics, and completed it as “Kohaku.“
 
“This song is a co-creation with my friend. I first heard the demo nearly 10 years ago, and since then, no one else has had the recording—it only existed in my mind. The song was never finished, so I added a new melody to it and gave it the name ’Kohaku’.“ — Fukase
 
“Zukan“ is the theme song for the upcoming animated feature “Dive in Wonderland“ premiering on August 29th, 2025. Composed by Nakajin and lyrics written by Saori, the song combines fantastical lyrics with a nostalgic melody, inviting listeners into its storybook-like world.
 
“The protagonist of “Dive in Wonderland“ is a girl going through a life that doesn’t quite go the way she wants. I asked myself what kind of words would fit a fantastical depiction of her facing challenges. As I thought, images of creatures that ’struggle just to live because they don’t fit their environment’ came to mind, so I titled the song ’Zukan’ (Field Guide) and wrote the lyrics from that perspective. I hope the song can make those difficult days—when you wonder why you can’t do things right—a little more endearing.“ — Saori
 
These two songs, each fully showcasing the captivating talents of SEKAI NO OWARI’s members as songwriters, are to be released in five different editions.

Limited: First Press Edition A “Kohaku / Zukan“ Includes a DVD featuring the “Kohaku“ music video, behind-the-scenes footage, official interviews, and special content titled SEKAI NO OWARI Career Guide, where members try out unfamiliar jobs for the first time — this edition features Fukase and DJ LOVE.
 
Each limited edition also includes an illustrated “SEKAI NO OWARI Member Guide“ with original member portraits and unique personality insights.
